U.S. Border Patrol agents locate the bodies of three deceased individuals abandoned by smugglers.
On Thursday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) advised Border Patrol they received a report of a deceased subject near Sullivan City, Texas. Agents, DPS and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) searched the reported area and located the decedent in the brush. HCSO contacted the local Justice of the Peace (JP) who, upon arrival, ordered the body be taken to the Hidalgo County morgue.
On Friday, agents working at the Javier Vega, Jr. Immigration Checkpoint received information regarding a Mexican national who had been abandoned by smugglers in a nearby ranch. Agents responded to the last known GPS coordinates and discovered the man deceased. Border Patrol contacted the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office who responded and transported the decedent to a local funeral home.
Saturday morning, Rio Grande City agents patrolling near La Grulla, Texas, discovered the body of a deceased subject in the brush. The Starr County Sheriff’s Office and the local JP responded to the scene and had the decedent transported to a local funeral home.
