RGC Celebrates Bi-Cultural Heritage

As usual, the City of Rio Grande City has outdone themselves once more.  This weekend families flocked to Britton Avenue for the traditional Viva Mexico event.

The afternoon celebrated local vendors and provided great food choices for attendees.  A paseo de arte exhibit showcased a collection of Frida Kahlo inspired art pieces.  Combining the arts and folklore the afternoon included lucha libre, arts, crafts, contests and entertainment.

But the event could not be complete without the legendary norteno band, Los Traileros del Norte to finish off the night.

Congratulations to the staff, City Commission, volunteers and everyone that made the night possible.  It is when we embrace our roots that we can contribute to a beautiful future.
