The legal dispute between factions of the Rio Grande City CISD appear to have ended, at least in the dispute over meeting. Last Wednesday the Fourth Court of Appeals ordered to dismiss the petition filed by former school board president and secretary Eduardo “Eddie” Ramirez and Basilio “Bacho” Villarreal.
Reasoning used to dismiss the case states that the petition is now moot since it was presented as an objection to the original meeting. While the board did not meet using that posting the majority of the board called a second meeting making the claims and objections obsolete.
No further action has been made on the petition asking that the decisions made during the second meeting that was not conducted on school property be confirmed as correct and binding decisions or the matter of a restraining order that would prohibit the former interim Superintendent from entering school grounds.
The petition intending to remove and or suspend Daniel J. Garcia from serving as a board member will not be heard until the early part of July.
